Discovering a Band before They Hit the Mainstream

I love this feeling!

I met a member of Hinder at a gas station as he was on his way to record their first album. I was like, "Well, best of luck with that, Dude. What's the name of your band again?  I'll try to keep an ear out for it."

Don't really care for their music, though.

Yeah, I've seen him at the same gas station a few times since then (I worked there for two years). Nice guy.

And when they get famous and everyone says they're one of their 'favourite bands', I feel kind of angry because I think: 'Hey! That's MY band, I found it first!'

Yep, when they hit the mainstream/sell out, it's like "But I liked them ages ago!" .

As soon as everyone else including the press discovers them they just kinda lose that special appeal. : /

I hate when I listen 2 a band an my little sis thinks shes so kool cuz she listens 2 them also!!!

I cant stand it when a new band only becomes hot because they re-did an old song, and all the young kids are like isnt this song awesome :P

Yeah, but fortunately most of the time that band becomes a one-hit wonder.

Like that one band, The Ataris did four years ago when they covered “The Boys Of Summer” and then disappeared just as quickly.
