Come on, people! I say the definition of the Best Fictional Character is a character you like to read about…just a hint, I have read EVERY SECTION with Death in fifteen times. Seriously, I counted.
Oh, other things he likes; bees. Susan. Life (he’d be somewhat useless without it). Sometimes golf, although since he doesn’t have any trouble making a little sphere go where he wants it to, it’s a bit pointless. And he doesn’t know what an egress is. (It’s an exit, for all you non-readers of Terry’s YA books.)

an anthropic personification of death who is somehow on our side, with a perculier like for cats and a good curry, what’s not to like.

He is the best ever – he tries do hard to do what is right.
My favourite line is:
"I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I COULD MURDER A CURRY."
Check curry- I just added "Best Thing To Murder."
I love Death, definitely best discword character.
