I freaking burst out laughing when I saw this. I never knew it was an actual word…I thought I made it up!

But still. Frock coats and three-cornered hats = hawt.

It’s fun to imagine hot guys in period dress. Long coats and tricorn hats and ahhhh ponytails.

Dangit Holly, you’re getting me started!! (I tend to drift off in history and English thinking about those types of things anyway…)

I prefer the highwaymen-type dandies to the ones who just sat around in stupid powdered wigs, though. I like them dashing and adventurous.

By the way, someone needs to make a really good movie about the Revolutionary War sometime. Of course it should feature lovely androgynous men, but it should also have a PLOT . The Patriot was terrible, I was forced to watch it in history earlier this year. God I hate Mel Gibson.

Yess. Definitely not fops, but rather almost Pirates of the Caribbean-y. Or The Patriot. :D

Yeah it did suck but I was just using it as a reference for dashing guys. XD

And indeed, there has been an excellent movie (well, miniseries) about the Revolutionary War since my last post—John Adams, which is wonderful. And not only that, but Stephen Dillane both looked and acted fantastically as Jefferson. :D
