Creeping is basically just exploring old, abandoned houses/buildings.
Tips for fellow creepers:
1. NEVER creep at night. You never know who or what you'll run into at night, and, in my experience, abandoned houses are usually home to grumpy and potentially dangerous squatters.
2. Watch your step and just be cautious. A lot of the places the I've explored have had rotted floors/ceilings, exposed rusty nails, and plenty of other stuff you need to watch out for. Old buildings are pretty dangerous so be very careful.
3. Always have a cellphone and flashlight. It's always good to have a cellphone with you no matter where you go, and these buildings can be extremely dark even in the middle of the day.
4. NEVER break into or vandalize the houses/buildings. If you can't get into the building without causing damage, no matter how rundown it may already be, then don't bother going in.
5. If you see a 'No Trespassing' sign then don't bother going in. I know that while creeping may be trespassing anyways, whether there is a sign or not, I never go any further if a sign is visible.
6. Always wear comfortable sneakers. Duh.
7. Take a camera with you. Even though these buildings are usually rundown, they are all interesting and even beautiful in their own way. I love keeping a catalog of all the buildings that I've crept in.
8. NEVER go alone. Always bring at least one friend along with you. There is safety in numbers.
9. Be safe and have fun. =]
