Cream Tea or Afternoon Tea usually consists of Scones cut open and cream and jam put upon them. A pot of tea and sometimes other food like light sandwiches and cake accompanies it.
It is eaten traditionally at around 3-4pm and enjoyed with friends.
- I love going for tea or baking scones and having it at home! The best type of tea with this is usually a 'savoury' tea like Ceylon, Assam, Afternoon Blend or Darjeeling. You can have sweet tea if you like, but i think it takes away the balance of flavours between the sweet food and the drink.
