Well you're supposed to pay upfront to drive into central London. I thought no bother i can park outside and walk in. But of course i couldn't, took a wrong turn and bingo thats £50. Next time i avoided it on the way in, next morning i come to leave and took the quickest route out, and bingo another £50. I'm just a mug. Dont have to go back again now tho, thank god! lol.
Wow, and I thought the traffic and parking fees in my city were bad, at least we don't have to pay to drive into downtown!! That's a bitch.
I parked at Earls Court Exhibition Centre overnight, i got back and it was £32. I was like WTF! You robbing bastards! lol
Oh and i got the second congestion charge of £50 as i left the parking centre. Was fine getting there, but they stung me on the way out....go figure...

Canada. Calgary, Alberta to be precise. We are only about 1million large but our pop. has nearly doubled in the last 20 yrs, oil & gas boom ya know. Our streets can't handle the traffic so we have constuction everywhere, not to mention all the new homes and buildings going up...
It's costs on average $25/day to park downtown (I ride my bike in summer, bus in winter) which is about £12 I guess. Not bad compared to your early morning shock!

London is a great city, have to say that, cos where else can you see throngs of people at 1am. But cheap and sensible it isnt ;)
