Charles Michael “Chuck” Palahniuk (born February 21, 1962) is an American satirical novelist and freelance journalist living in Portland, Oregon. He is best known for the award-winning novel Fight Club, which was later made into a film directed by David Fincher. He has one of the largest centralized followings of any author on the Internet, based around his official web site. His writings, similar in style to those of such peers as Bret Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh, and Douglas Coupland, have made him one of the most popular novelists of Generation X. I dare all of you to put down Fight Club and find the short story called “Guts”
If you don’t feel nauseous by the end, you have a really strong stomach. Some people threw up at his public readings of it :p This guy’s awesome!
Fight club is amazing.
Guts didn’t have that sort of affect on me, but I could see why it would of some. I actually liked that story a whole lot better than Haunted itself. I can’t say I really completely got into to.
Anyway, he’s a bit of a genius.
into it.*
I heard him read “Guts” outloud once in NYC . I was almost one of the few dozen that passed out
Cool! I’d like to meet/see him in person too. How many people were listening, and did anyone really throw up? I wouldn’t be surprised, but I still gotta ask.
“Invisible Monsters” is one of my all-time favorite books. If you haven’t already, read this book!!!!
Palahniuk: a hauntingly, amazing, genius writer. He inspires me.
Fight Club, Choke, Survivor, and currently reading Haunted. This guy can write, not that i'm familiar with alot of authors or even that I read alot of fiction, i'm more of a non-fiction kinda guy but Chuck has a certain style that I really enjoy, he has a very dark sense of humor, at times I find myself laughing out loud or mumbling under my breath how warped this guys mind is (i'm pretty warped myself so maybe that's the appeal).
I can quit smoking but I can't quit reading Chuck!!
I've read all up until now, andi cant wait for his next book tour in march, that and for choke to become a movie. he's my absolute favorite.
