Christian Shephard

Christian Shephard is a character on the TV show LOST, portrayed by Australian actor John Terry. The character is neither a survivor of the plane crash or one of the island's others, but in some respects fits into both categories pretty well.

Introduced as Jack's father, Christian was revealed within the opening episodes to have been dead, but was also on the plane being transported back to LA. One of the show's early mysteries is the fact that when the coffin was found in the jungle his body was missing. Since then, the character has frequently appeared to be on the island through character hallucinations and dream sequences, while the MIA of his body subsequently leads to questions regarding his presence.

Christian Shepherd is one of the few characters to have appeared in every season so far, and has extensive ties with multiple other characters in the LOST universe, including Sawyer, Ana-Lucia and Claire Littleton, who it was revealed, is his daughter.

With this evidence, to this day, the character reamins one of the most intriguing and mysterious characters on the show.
