Blimey! You're both certain to have everyone in tears!
My choice would be Radiohead's 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)'.
I absolutely love the song - certainly there best, and Thom Yorke's voice is phenomenal.
Also it nearly references me at the end - where Thom sings "Emmerse yourself in love" it sounds suspiciously like "And Ross is so in Love". Sadly, I'm not, but by the time I die, I hope to be!!
I know what you mean - but I think 'Mmmbop' may be taking it a tad too far..!
I'm torn between the two extremes - I'm either gonna have a Victorian type funeral - all black lace and sobbing, or one of those jazz funerals - street processions and jazz hands.
Reggie Perrin blimey! I haven't thought of him for years! He walked into the sea didn't he? Twice I think! I can think of better ways to fake your own death - Homer did it didn't he!
Wow!Look at all the really awesome songs we got here! And i guess every song tells a story...And i really love that poem miumiu!Hmm..i guess i'm goin' to have to pick the Victorian type of funeral purple octi!
I am absolutely serious about the MMMBop thing. If I thought for a second that my friends weren't planning on going through with it, I would be pissed. Alternatively, I'd also be fine with there not being a funeral for me, but if people insist, I at least want them to take something interesting from the experience, and not just use the thing as an excuse to shuffle their feet and read ponderous poetry and dwell on their own predictable chemical reactions to a predictable turn of events.
It's fine to be romantic, but honestly, we're mortal human beings; our relevance in this world isn't so much more durable than that of a pop radio hit, and with very few exceptions, the things we care deeply about at the present moment will look as foolish and irrelevant as the Macarena in about 15 minutes time.
Hence, MMMBop at a funeral == really, what could be more fitting?
I saw a program about people who were planning their own funeral (apparently, it is quite popular among the young as well as the old), and many people said they don't want a traditional sad funeral. Instead, they wanted to throw a party for their friends and relatives hoping people would have fun at their funeral. "Something different." I understand, of course, that people want to be remembered like this, but then again, it is not their party, is it, and I do imagine that the friends and relatives do not necessarily want fun at that time. I for one would feel quite awkward in a funeral like that.
That is true. They should do what they want to. ... I wish I could honestly think like this, but I cannot. What if they organise a big and expensive funeral ? Will everybody think I wanted it like that ? No, no, I don't want people to think that of me.
That's true! We'd all just assume they'd got bored of us or found something else to occupy their time!
Fair enough, then Bailey! It would make me laugh I suppose, and you don't waste a good song. My dear mother pointed out to me the horribleness of really liking a song, and then someone dear having it played at their funeral thereby completely ruining the song for my mum any time she heard it thereafter.
Perhaps the best idea is to get cremated, and then contained in various fireworks. At least then your funeral would have lots of 'ooohs' and 'ahhhhs'!
I would have to say "Roll Over Beethoven," by Electric Light Orchestra. First it has the classic intro, the rock and roll kick in and it's 8.10 long. Win, win, win all the way.

Title :The Wind Knows My Name
Artist :Fairground Attraction
Lyrics -
Wish me well, say goodbye
I'll never tell I saw you cry
Understand you're not to blame
It's just that the wind,
the wind knows my name
And it's calling me,
calling me,
calling me again
I think that you knew right from the start
there was this restlessness in my heart
It's a feeling that I have tried to tame
but it's hard when the wind,
when the wind knows your name
And it's calling me,
calling me,
calling me again
It's a cruel wind that tears us apart
but a worse thing is a tired and bitter heart
So dry your eyes, no more tears
Hold me once and I'll walk out of here
Who knows? One day, we'll meet again,
but don't wait for me, 'cause the wind knows my name
And it's calling me,
calling me,
calling me again
Yes, it's calling me,
calling me,
calling me again...

For me, it is not a song, but a poem: "I Am Vertical". It may be read here if you are curious.

Suicide is easy (M.A.S.H)
Queen did a few songs that are very apt here - When Freddie saw death approach he wrote some of his best work
X Japan – "Say Anything"
:3
I've already made it clear to several people I know that if they outlive me, I want "MMMBop" played at my funeral.
Funerals are altogether too depressing.
I know what you mean - but I think 'Mmmbop' may be taking it a tad too far..!

I really can't decide!
Will anyone turn up anyhow?
You can always fake your own death to find out who'll come!
I actually think that would be really cool – but my daughter .. i couldnt do it to her – anyone else fine – Reggie perrin style
It is an interesting notion, isn't it!
Reggie Perrin blimey! I haven't thought of him for years! He walked into the sea didn't he? Twice I think! I can think of better ways to fake your own death - Homer did it didn't he!
I cant think of a better way ?
(Woody Allen)
I dont mind death at all – i hate pain
Homer chucks a dummy off a cliff. And then meets a woman at his grave claiming to be his mother!
Remember it well – it was his mother wasnt it – middle name Jay and all that

To be honest i dont care what they do … ill be dead! – they should do what they want to do

I really dont mind - Dont care what people thought of me either - except perhaps my daughter
Im comfortable with the thought of noone turning up
hehe if one of us in our little bestof world was to die none of us would know where they went.
That's true! We'd all just assume they'd got bored of us or found something else to occupy their time!

probably Iris from Goo Goo Dolls, my favourite song…
I would have to say Requiem (W.A. Mozart). It's a sad song, but I don't know that I'll be sad… I don't know what I'll feel until I get there…
i want ill see you on the other side by ozzy
i would totally want 'the bitter end' by Placebo…
Sky Fell Over Me by Shiny Toy Guns
I would have to say "Roll Over Beethoven," by Electric Light Orchestra. First it has the classic intro, the rock and roll kick in and it's 8.10 long. Win, win, win all the way.
i have a list, that one of my best friends have. its sick, but i had to do it.
