Living in Italy for a couple of years, I found that (unlike in Australia), ice cream is pretty much the only acceptable food you can walk around eating in public. Since I’m Australian and feel comfortable eating only if I’m a) standing over a sink, b) driving, or c) walking along the street, the only feasable option I had was to make ice cream my stable diet. Now I’m hooked.
