Eyup ya'al, I have a Yorkshire accent and am loving reading all your views, pros and cons :) ,I've had an idea for a documentary film:
I would like to shoot a film about: The world's youth, teen culture.
What American's think the English are really like-what they may see and believe on televison.
The same for English views on America and other cultures.
As for other countries I wish to do the same.
I want to remove, or at least update steriotypes and hopefully let the world know about each others cultures and ways of life. Make people realize that we aren't all that different after all.
As in, the English don't, and haven't worn leather flatcaps in decades, Americans aren't all self-obsessed fat people, the French aren't weak and so on...
Teach other people about other people!

I always thought that the Internet would be the medium to bring the world together, like this web site, people from different back grounds and places around the world together in one place to talk about what they like and there in find commonalities. So I guess my suggestion would be something like, I think you can get a web domain for a few bucks, or a free web page from different ISPs, put your ideas out there and solicit contribution's?
i dont no why so many of u guys love the english accent, im english, and yes i do love my accent, its funny. but americans definatly have the coolest, like u yanks can say all these cool phrases that just sound ponsy wen we say them, cept i think we sound cooler swearing lol.

Don't know what a flat cap is, but I wouldn't argue with anyone who says that most Americans are fat and self obsessed. Ffrench jokes do really annoy me though. It's more serious comments about the French more than jokes. Many Americans really have no respect for the French. It just makes me want to move there all the more.

i think the english are the best when it comes to insulting someone and they dont know it until it is to late. they do it so polite and proper that it comes off as a normal conversation or even a compliment. that is so smooth.

I love the accents also, but I think it's as much the pronunciation and correct usage. We Yanks tend a to be a bit sloppier than you Brits.
