British Accents

I work with a guy from around London, another from northern England and a woman from Wales, each a little different and each sounds great.

i hate it tho when in those stupid tv shows they put in sum weird cahracter that has sum stupid accent thats supposed to be sophisticated…..idk but it drives me insane

Yeah Maudi, most people don't like the sound of their voices, I've heard mine on tape, just hate it. But I can listen to a nice British accent all day long.

Does tape really play back your voice the way it sounds? Or is it distorted. I once brought in a cd to my guitar teacher and he told me that it wasn't digitally remastered, meaning it was from an old recording, meaning that what he was playing was in a different key than what it was when they originally played it. Is it accurate?

I dont know about the whole guitar thing and being a key off, but when you play back your voice on a tape or whatever it sounds a lot closer to how everyone else hears you compared to how you hear yourself

yeah I agree with that tape thing, I hear myself on a recording and think to myself wtf do I really sound like a kid? it's funny though, and then when I hear myself sing in a recording I sound older.It's wierd.

that is weird.. when i hear myself sing i run a way so don't really know what i sound like when i sing on tape! :)

ahhh… i get it now.. im not sure. im technically the enilish we use in america is the same as in englend.. but it's not really…. anyway

the english is the 2 countries are totally different we already went over that if you look back in the conversations. But accents depend where your from, its whatever the majority has in the area your is what the "main" is, but then if I go to another country (like britain) they have the accent to me but I have the accent to them so its all on perspective

this is true.. take me for instines (this is not an invitaion) im from the south and i move to oregon now i never really thought i had an accent (unless i add it ofcourse) until i started to talk to a sales lady when i 1st got here and shes like : dang girl where r u from?

yeah i know…. thats why i try so hard to hide it.. im getting pretty good.. i can do a russian accent (well sorta) like 3 differnt british accents, a super-southern, a newyorker, italian…. u get the point

Seems rather foolish to hide it. People love accents. You benefit from it. It might even help you in the job world.

well ya thats true but i don't really have much of an accent any more anyway i've been "portlandized' so i do the accents just for fun

Well, sincerely, I never heard a spanish talking in english, but a spanish accent in italian is FABULOUS!!
