Bora (Croatian: bura, Slovenian: burja) is a northern to north-eastern wind in the Adriatic, Greece and Turkey. Its name derives from the Greek mythological figure of Boreas, the North Wind. It is most common during the winter and it can reach speeds of up to 220 kilometers per hour.
