Blackadder

I must say that although this is one of the funniest shows that i have come across in my time, I didn’t much like the last season. But, in saying this, I have to say that seasons 2 and 3 are include the most ridiculously funny dialogue ever written. Followed closely by season 1.

Here are some quotes from my favourite episode (Money – season 2) which sees blackadder selling Baldrick’s filthy body for sex down at the docks to ensure that the Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells doesn’t kill him:

Blackadder: The path of my life is strewn with cowpats from the devil’s own satanic herd.

Blackadder: This place stinks like a pair of armoured trousers after the Hundred Years War. Baldrick, have you been eating dung again?

I remember the second and final seasons were the well-written ones, although admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve given it a viewing!

Season four’s poignant ending is unforgettable.

watched it for the first time tonight. ohhh, how i did enjoy it.

I don’t like the first series too much, but the second and third are fantastic. And the last one isn’t bad either. Especially Captain Darling.

I think, as with many comedies, the first season involves getting the engines started, so to speak. Even with (almost) constantly brilliant shows like Seinfeld or Red Dwarf, the initial seasons are less than perfect.

Back to Blackadder: watch out for appearances by Peter Cook and Chris Barrie!

yeah the first season is always just to get the ball rolling. but gota say that season 2 (with queenie et al) and season 3 (with the bonny prince) are just hilarious. although, captain darling’s uncontrollable twitch was a hoot in season 4!

“A fate worse than a fate worse than death” LOL . Blackadder season 3 was the best. Still makes me laugh today.

we have all the series. i agree with lackdaisy, and that series 2 and 4 are the best, if you watch series one you’ll see that infact blackadder is a stupid moronic comedian and he changes in series 2 3 and 4 into a pompous big-headed comedian.

I think the first season was the best!!! I can't stop laughing when I watch it. I have so many fav quotes from it!

Edmund: What you're telling me is that something you have never seen is slightly less blue than something else you have never seen.
Percy: Yes, My Lord.
Edmund: Percy, you are as much use to me as a hole in the head.

And meeting with Baldrick for  the first time:

Edmund: And what's your name, little fellow?
Baldrick: Baldrick, My Lord.
Edmund: Than I shall call you... Baldrick.
Baldrick: And I shall call you "My Lord", My Lord.

I love English humour. :D 

ooo no no no no no my dear sister the 3rd season is by far the best

lol the best part of season one was the russian codpiece :) hahahahahahahahaha

I still fancy the first one (maybe because I love middle age), but I'll check out the third one. Everyone with Edmund Blackadder is great! :D
