Benjamin Linus is a character on LOST who is often referred to as the leader of "The Others".

Introduced in Season 2, his true nature and motive went questioned for many episodes when he was held captive in the Swan by Jack and Locke, under the alias of Henry Gale. In Season 3 it was established that he was in fact an "Other", and throughout the season proved to be at war with the passengers of flight 815.

At the end of Season 3, he is again held as a captive, but as always, his true motives and thinking are shrouded in mystery.

Able to give you the creeps and make you take pity on him, all in one scene. A master manipulator, easily one of the best characters on the show.

Even though his character is evil and you always hate him, I really think he’s one of the best actors on Lost… and Lost is full of REALLY impressive actors, so that’s saying something.

Even though he ALWAYS lies and I KNOW he always lies, every single time something comes out of his mouth I think, “Oh, he’s telling the truth this time. He couldn’t lie about this.” Then, the times that I DO think he’s lying, he’s not.

I’m always wrong. Darn good actor/character to pull that off every time. Also, he is really good at being creepy.

Michael Emerson is indeed brilliant in this role.
