wow, ines, that’s such a poetic way of putting it! yes, it’s is the subtelty that makes the four stringed motherf***er (excuse my language) such a necessity for a great song. without bass the music just doesn’t have that throbbing life underneath it that you can just tantalisingly taste, but not quite touch. it is like an unsolved message from another world. so deep and dark and mysterious. i often find myself listening to a song and realise i’m more following the bass than anything else.
