I am in total sympathy with this lady-born into a family happy to sacrifice their daughters to the lust of a king old enough to be their father, she had already seen her sister,Mary,humiliated-why should she have given in?Then, after she had attracted the attention of the heir to the powerful earldom of Northumberland(Henry Percy was the only one to abstain from condemning her at her trial-I think this would have been a love match)said king then broke that up ,arriving at the family home himself, expecting ...?One wonders what.
He got nothing. He continued to get nothing for a very long time.Good old Anne-mother of one of our greatest monarchs.
