I hate this woman, she is 100% bitch.
She makes me ashamed to be an American woman. God, she’s horrible.
HATE HER >:O
I like Anne Coulter. She's a gorgeous blonde conservative who speaks her mind, but above all of this, she's so enthusiastically different from the mainstream. She dares to not only base her beliefs on her own reasoning, but also stand up for those beliefs. I disagree with most of what she believes, but I can at least tell that she thinks very carefully about it, and why she believes what she believes. That's something to which I can relate. When it comes to values, most people just agree with psychologists, scientists, the media, their parents, college professors, talk show hosts, comedians, or politicians. It takes a strong individual to ignore the opinions of others, and think for yourself.
The quote of hers with which I agree the most is “I think we had enough laws about the turn-of-the-century. We don’t need any more.”
And the quote of hers which I think best illustrates her willingness to think outside of the box is "I think Women should be armed but should not vote...women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend it...it's always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care."
You have to consider a whole lot of perspectives to decide that your own voting rights are more harmful than good. That's out there.
That last quote… is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. How's that thinking outside the box? That's her placing stereotypes on women. Sure, it can take a strong individual to ignore others and think for yourself, but it could also mean she's a dumbass. But yet, she thinks for herself at least. Silly. Who says that that means she's thinking for herself? She sounds like a lot of conservatives if you ask me. Just because people agree with other people doesn't mean their not thinking for themselves.
lol. Such hostility. You act as though there is a snowball's chance in hell that women will ever actually lose their right to vote because of what Coulter said. I think she is thinking for herself, because she's saying stuff that nobody else is saying, and she's wording it quite intelligently. Her vocabulary is not the vocabulary of an idiot. She disagrees with you. That does not make her stupid. It's not hard to figure out how she's reached the conclusions she's reached, because she spells it out for us so clearly. She doesn't compromise, or sacrifice her values to gain approval. Personally, I wish everybody of political or idealogical fame were as blunt and honest about their point of view as Ann Coulter. Wouldn't it make it a lot easier to decide for whom to vote in our elections?
OH! and… pfft, she's not gorgeous… :P
Well, I know it doesn't make her right, but then again, I don't feel that I or any human being is wise enough to accurately judge what philosophy is right or wrong. I think her opinion is just as valuable as yours or mine, even though I don't agree with some of it. I don't think she's a bitch, either. Her offense is vocal, which is much more pleasant than other forms of judgement. I welcome anybody to say whatever they like, even Ann Coulter, as long as they don't point any leathal weapons at innocent people, demanding service or sacrifice.
And I think she is gorgeous, for a woman her age. When you spend as much time dealing with the public as I have, you'll see what I mean.
Meh, I still think she's a bitch. Vocal can be just as deadly if you say the right thing.
And what do you mean when I've dealt with the public as much as you have I'll see?
I mean most people her age look a heck of a lot worse.
There's a big difference between respecting someone for the way they carry themselves and act and believing what they say. Your argument appears to have been over two different things.
By the way Hideous Monster, Ann Coutler Conservatism is a far cry from true, traditional Conservative. Her religious views stand in the way making for a very contradictory set of political views, but then again, it's hard to find a belief that doesn't contradict itself. When put into words anyways.
I'm not sure there is such a thing as traditional conservatism. Traditions may live longer than pop culture, but they still evolve fast enough to make one person's definition of traditional disagree with the next's. She seems to stand for big government on the international side, small (if any) government on the domestic side, and strong fundamentalist Christian values guiding society in general. To me that sounds like modern American far-right philosophy in its simplest form.
Is that what you support?
No, I don't support big government in any way, foreign or domestic, and though I think we would be better off with religion running our lives than government, I think of religion as a type of self-dicipline, and not a type of centralized organization.
It's interesting how she expresses herself, I just think she's a cunt.
What is favorable about a religion running a country?
No no no... I didn't say a religion. I said religion. And I didn't say running a country, I said running our lives, as in individually. Religion, as I stated earlier, is self-dicipline. In other words, if you wouldn't steal or murder even if there were no human government promising severe consequenses for the act, then you are adhering to at least a very basic religion. A religion is simply a self-inflicted code of ethics. As we can see in our own culture, it is possible for people to adhere to a variety of religions without living under a theocracy, and so when I say I think religion in general has more promising potential in running things, you can see how it could do so without necessarily being a government, or having its own national police or military force.
I can honestly say I've never met Anne Coulter, and though on the surface she does strike me as a bigot and a cold person, I get the feeling she just has a really cynical sense of humor, and likes to get attention for daring to think way outside of the cultural box. Almost as though she gets a kick out of getting people to think of points that they otherwise would never have to consider. I think in her mind, if people who disagree with her resort to name calling (like bitch and cunt), then it means they can't beat her arguments intellectually, and so she believes at that point she's won. I can see how she might enjoy that.
Okay, I have to add, that I can call anyone I want a bitch. By doing so, doesn't mean I can't beat them at an argument. Not saying I could beat her, but by calling her a HUGE FUCKING CUNT doesn't mean I couldn't, at least eventually if anything.
"As we can see in our own culture," I don't think I see this as well as you do. Futhermore, if we looked at person such as Ann Coulter (who really isn't so individualistic, but follows the opinions of many Evangelical Christians) where would we stand on foreign matters? The Crusades come to mind.
I couldn't argue with her, most of her arguments come down to name calling. You can't argue with that, that's why she wins. It comes down to "Godless Liberals", etc. etc. I don't call her a cunt as a way of winning an argument by any means, and to be honest, I really don't care one way or another ( I can't say I would've said the same thing a year ago), she's just one of those people who makes me throw up a little in my mouth-I can't control that.
I guess if my logic with her comes down to name calling, that makes me no better than her. The funny thing is, usually when you call someone something such as "cunt," you are passionate about what you are saying or drawing off of some sort of emotion, whether it be in the moment or just the idea of something that makes you invoke a strong feeling. I feel sort of indifferent about the whole thing. Anyways, I believe that my perceptions leave me living in a Godless universe and if I didn't have a reasonable amount of chaos in my life, there would be no point. Therefore, in that aspect, I love Ann Coulter.
I do have to say Hideous Monster, I hold a great deal of respect for you and you opinions, even if I don't agree with all of them.
M_eanwhile, sure, you can call anyone you want bitch or cunt, and I'm sure it means whatever you think it means, but what it means to Anne Coulter is probably that she's smarter than you.
Vano, you may see a lot of evangelical Christians agreeing with Coulter, but you don't see anybody in the media doing so. In fact, from a far-right christian perspective, the mainstream media is very liberal, and Anne Coulter is one of the only sane people getting airtime.
I do agree that ultimately Coulter comes across just as self-righteous as those who hate her, but at the same time, I find her personality and general character very intriguing. She seems eccentric, and I've always liked famous eccentrics.
And I see no reason why chaos can't be a god. After all, if this is a godless universe, then chaos has done very well to prove its ability as a brilliant engineer.
"Anne Coulter is one of the only sane people getting airtime."
I don't think I agree very much with that statement.
What is it about her that an Anarchist/Atheist finds so appealing?
I must clarify that that quote was preceded in the same sentence with "from a far-right Christian perspective..." That is it's not necessarily a point of view I agree with.
I like Anne Coulter because she laughs at those who hate her, and she manages to piss them off without really doing anything harmful or immoral. I think she's a brilliant linguist, and an all-around intriguing character, because she's so abnormal. I don't know about you, but I'm a fan of good, original movies. I mean I'm such a big fan of original movies that I hate movies that have no original characters. Anne Coulter is a real-life original character. She's a pretty blonde chick with the education of an east-coast lawyer, the accent of a west coast actress, and the philosophy of a cowboy. She's the sort of character who's so worth thinking about, that if she were in a movie, she would make me want to buy the DVD.
I don't have to agree with somebody to like that somebody. I have friends with whom I have absolutely nothing in common. In fact, I think that if I met somebody that acted and thought just like me, I would quickly rethink my whole personality.
That completely makes sense. I agree. I misinterpreted what you were saying before.
First of all, have you noticed the prominant adam's apple…..I suspect that she is not so much 'she' and 'she-male'. The danger of people like Ann Coulter is that those who think as she does can use her quotes to pppppprove their mindless drivel. She is the example of a "Charismatic Leader" that leads people to a worse society. She is a thin Rush Limbaugh, and just as much as a hypocrit. She tried to falsify her voter registration in Florida, her high book sales come from bulk purchases (sort of rigging the NY Times list) the same as Rush and other right wing authors do. If the TImes just counted individual book sales they would never make the list at all. Personally, I'd like to force Rush to chew on Ann's dick wil I ream her ass.
Very thoughtful.
Wow. Her own family has attempted to disown her? That's a shame. I'm surprised that someone would be that annoyed at the fact that they are related to a specific person. To me, Anne Coulter is simply an insult comic geared toward neo-conservatives. People hate her because she has the nerve to be politically incorrect, without calling herself a humorist. She does her stand-up on Fox News, rather than Comedy Central. She's like the Anti-Bill Hicks, and people don't like her, because she insults the sorts of people who like Bill Hicks, who insults the sorts of people who like Anne Coulter.
absolute disgust for this human-being.
