Seriously, folks, we don’t need that crap. All it does is mess up your brain and get you into trouble.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to say at the end of your life that you were not an addict?
Alcohol consumption does not an addict make…
This is kinda pointless. You'd also have to include, caffeine, salt, oil, red meat, too many vitamins hurt you, cars let off fumes, hair dye, and so on. All which we as humans are addicted to.
True, very true. I just ment that to mean being addicted to alcohol. I'm not judging anyone that does drink, I just choose not to because my father's an alchohol addict. I fear it might be in my dna to be unable to stop at some point, so I won't risk it. (I know, I worry to much.)
I understand, the same goes with the majority of my family. But it's not just alcohol. If your father had an addiction, no matter what kind it is, all it means, is that your personally is more prone to addictions. Not just to alcohol, so, if he was an alcoholic, you can be addicted to gambling, drugs, food, shopping, and so on. But, if you're able to recognize it, then I think that's a good start. But like I said, it's not just alcohol and drugs.
Maybe you have an oedipus complex? Taken away from your mother too soon?
just kidding.
