Looking on the web,I found out a bit more info :

This Roman object was found near Bonn in Germany.It looks similar to the other,doesn't it?Again,according to the above blog,nobody is sure about what it was used for.....

Here's some more-a recent find in the UKThank you to http://thehumanjourney.net)-

"Work at Smith and Sons Gill Mill gravel quarry started in 1988 and has been ongoing ever since. The focus of attention over the years has been a major Roman settlement lying along a road crossing the Windrush valley in the vicinity of Gill Mill House. From 2001 onwards an area of c 27 ha has been examined as the quarry has extended down the valley south-east of Gill Mill House, revealing more Roman activity."

We play lots of sport where we use heavy things-javelin,etc.Maybe it's part of a game played by-say-the Roman army?
