Warner Bros sez "300 is a work of fiction inspired by the Frank Miller graphic novel and loosely based on a historical event. The studio developed this film purely as a fictional work with the sole purpose of entertaining audiences."
It's very close to the Frank Miller comic (the key word here), which was written in 1998. Re-imaginings of historical events are certainly not new in comics.
No, I probably won't watch it 300 times. It wasn't that amazing I guess, I like the movie for other reasons….the buff Gerard Butler being the main reason lol.
Couldn't believe how awesome this movie was. Went on a night out with some mates after seeing it and we just kept yelling "This is SPARTA!" all night, with various other 300 quotes here & there. Quality.
