Thanks for adding me.What you have told me is no surprise-the states in America are so big,they seem like countries in themselves.What binds people together?Presumably,the U.S.A.has a way of helping all it's citizens to feel "American?"
We see American idol over here which is very similar to our show the X factor-another Simon Cowell show.It has very high ratings and ,in the States,must make a fortune!
We,too, have had increasing problems with National identity over the last 20-30 years.One factor is too much change,too quickly.Another is letting go the things that give a community its' strength.I think what I would most like to see back is integrity-especially in business.Firms take over others,pension off loyal staff who have worked steadily for a company for years and break the spirit of a place.This nearly happened to my own profession-teaching.The classroom teacher was heavily undervalued in the eighties and so many left the profession.A school is an important part of a community and needs continuity.There should be some teachers who have taught more than one generation of children.Luckily,things changed because respect was given to those who were good at their jobs even if they didn't seek promotion.I could go on,but you get the idea...America and Britain wrestle with similar problems,only on a different scale!
Do you have to be posted with a clinic for practical experience as part of your studies?I remember my friend going "lambing"as part of her veterinary course-very cold in the British winter!-though,of course,full of enthusiasm,she loved it!!!
So you're gonna be a vet eh? Cool bananas! I was planning on doing that when I was younger but it's too much school for my lazy ass! I spent some years volunteering at the SPCA walking dogs, then training puppies and eventually older dogs with obedience problems.
so ya, elephants, coyotes, and lynx... they used to live in the southern half of Canada and the northern parts of US, until recently when deforestation destroyed their habitat, now i think they only thrive in maybe montana and southern reaches of BC Canada... sad i know, human progress, it's a bitch eh?? like the snow leopards of the andes, they are becoming a mythical creature, rarely seen...

I had a friend who studied at Bristol university to be a vet-she really had to work hard!Do you train to work on all animals with teeth?
How long is the training?(Incidently,here, a vet is qualified to treat humans…theoretically!Does that mean that you could do the same?!!!)
