In coming updates we will be having “meta-categories” in which you will be able to sort your stuff out, and have a section for absolute favorites. That notes idea is brilliant, I’ve put that in our development list.
We have been thinking about doing a Worst Stuff in the World, only after we have finished The Best Stuff in the World, and only if we don’t get our asses sued off. (Have to talk to the lawyers). The goal would be to have a site that would showcase the crap in the world, and get featured entities to lift their game. Chances are it will probably degrade into a shitfest. ;)
Was just thinking about your notes idea. I’m thinking you could add notes to an item, but would you have a problem with it also showing up on its own items page?

Hi. I think I’m leaning towards things turning into a crapfest if we tightly integrate it. I am too naive for libel laws. That’s why I would want to find out first from our solicitors.
It looks like the move to the new server changed a couple of things, but I have an idea how it will be fixed. Hopefully we will get something up in the next few days.

I always think someone should do absolutely nothing for a period of their life to get in touch with themselves, etc. So what did you study? I’d ask what you’re into, but I get an idea from your profile.
Melbourne is a nice place. I love it. It’s getting colder as we move into winter. It’s been quite dry. We’ve had a comedy festival on. There is always something happening. I’ll probably be coming to the US soon, which I’m looking forward to.

I was reading another comment somewhere which I totally agree with. “Why does every single thing that you learn have to be applied to some future career? Fuck that. How about learning because there’s lots of interesting shit out there?” Philosophy is brilliant. Kudos on the media studies. In Australia we call it an Arts Degree. Philosophy, history, film, music, etc. Did one myself. Was a sound engineer, music producer. Did video. Had lots of fun. Still am.
I would love to come to New York. I’m sure I will. Last time I visited the US, I was only there for an hour at the airport. No Australian would say ‘No’ to a beer. ;)
I’m hoping the advertising hasn’t turned you off. We’ve been working on this, and have turned it off on the front page for members.
I have two other friends and an ex partner or who are studied philosophers. Every time they start articulating, I sit there hypnotized. You just did that to me then. Fantastic.
The intention originally was to have the ads obvious in the collage, so members could avoid them. It didn’t work for our sense of aesthetics, so we got rid of the ugly borders. We forgot to do something else with that.
We’ll see how we go with it all. The good thing now is we can concentrate on the site. We’ve been dying to add in a whole bunch of new features.
Yes, I had noticed the Umberto Eco entry on your stuff as well. It’s interesting to see how often you match certain people on what you like. (And I apparently like some strange things). After a while, you can’t help noticing that the same avatars seem to be turning up wherever you go on the site!
